From TibiaWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Shopkeeper NPCs buy and sell items, equipment, weapons, furniture, and more! These are the NPCs that have established places of business, but there are some NPCs in more obscure locations that also buy and sell things. Some shopkeepers only sell to premium account players.

There are multiple types of Shopkeeper NPCs:

[edit] How to buy from shopkeepers

Shopkeepers in general have a list of items they sell (although some, such as Norma, only sell to and/or buy from premium players or only to males, such as H.L.).

After greeting the shopkeeper with a hi (very common salutation for them since it is only made up of two letters) (Non-Playable Character), it may ask you Hello, what do you need? or it may just reply with a Hello or some variation of that phrase.

[edit] Browsing a Shop's Category List

Most NPCs will give you their list of available items for sale if you ask them what do you sell?. Some also have a blackboard on the wall listing the sale items. If they sell many things, they organize them by categories, you can browse those categories by replying with the name of the category you want.

For example, if you are talking with Zaidal, the furniture shopkeeper of Port Hope and you ask what do you sell? he will reply I sell tables, chairs and drawers, all handmade with the material that the jungle has to offer. (this may change with the Christmas update of 2006). Note that the categories are tables, chairs and drawers.

After that you can reply tables and he will give you a list of available type of tables for sale, in our case he replies I can offer you stone tables, tusk tables, bamboo tables and trunk tables.

You may also use the trade function to find out the whole list of the NPCs wares.

[edit] Buying from a shopkeeper

You need to say the magic word, buy, (although in some cases it does not apply) followed by the number of items, (only if more than one) and then the name of the item itself. Take the following line as an example:

buy 10 ham

The NPC will understand the phrase as if you want to buy 10 items of the specified item, in this case ham. And it will ask you if you want to pay a certain amount of gold pieces for them. You decide whether you want to buy it or not afterall, if you reply with yes and you do not have enough gold pieces, the shopkeeper will cancel the trade and you will not get the item(s). If you say no, it may ask you if you would like to buy something else.

In some cases, usually when the shopkeeper does not buy himself the item you want to buy from him, you can omit the word buy and your sentence would be like 10 ham. This is because he "already knows" you want to buy from him those 10 hams.

There are several types of shops, most of them work the same way, but some differ in the phrases you need to say so you can get whatever you want.

If the buy function does not work, just tell the NPC that you want to trade with him and he will then present you with the list of what you can buy from and sell to him. This way you can find out the whole list of wares he handles.

[edit] How to sell to shopkeepers

The key thing to say when selling items to a shopkeeper is trade. For example if you want to sell some meat say:

trade and from table select a sell, next select a meat and move a bar to select how many meat You want sell.
